The Australia Colombia Business Council (ACBC) is proud to share the incredible response to the Marianna Boza Scholarship in 2025.
When applications closed on 18 July, we had received 47 submissions from highly talented individuals with a shared vision: to carry forward Marianna’s remarkable legacy and strengthen the connection between Australian know-how and Colombian mining and engineering.
Marianna Boza was a respected leader, advocate, and bridge-builder between our nations. This scholarship stands as a testament to her commitment to knowledge exchange, innovation, and opportunities for emerging professionals.
The calibre of candidates this year has been exceptional. The applications were filled with stories of determination, technical expertise, and a drive to contribute to a sustainable, collaborative future in the mining and engineering sectors. These stories are not just inspiring – they give us confidence that ACBC is delivering on our purpose of fostering meaningful connections and growth between Australia and Colombia.
On 21 August at 4:00 PM, we will gather at the ACM offices with our board members, sponsors, and supporters to announce the scholarship winner. Shortly afterwards, preparations will begin to send this year’s recipient to Australia later in 2025, where they will gain invaluable experience, build industry connections, and bring new perspectives back to Colombia.
