Honoring Marianna Boza’s Legacy

Marianna Boza was a trailblazer in the mining industry, a leader who championed sustainable mining, environmental stewardship, and gender equality. She dedicated her career to fostering responsible mining practices and advocating for the role of women in the industry.

The Marianna Boza Legacy Scholarship was created to celebrate her impact and support the next generation of Colombian female professionals in mining. Through this scholarship, we aim to continue her mission, empowering women to drive positive change in the mining sector.

Opportunity to Study in Australia

We are delighted to welcome Holmesglen Institute, based in Melbourne, as our Education Partner for this initiative. Their support includes providing a scholarship for the awardee, with training delivered through the Holmesglen Victoria Tunnelling Centre.

We also extend our gratitude to Study Melbourne for their valuable assistance in
securing this opportunity in collaboration with Australia’s leading education providers. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering educational opportunities and strengthening academic ties between our countries.

 

Scholarship Inclusions

The Marianna Boza Legacy Scholarship offers a fully funded experience in Australia, covering:

  • Tuition & Training at Holmesglen Institute – Specialized coursework in mining and tunnelling
  • Round-Trip Flights (Colombia–Australia–Colombia) – Covered airfare for the recipient.
  • Visa & Health Insurance – Full support for securing necessary travel documentation.
  • Accommodation in Melbourne (up to 6 months) – Comfortable housing throughout the program.
    Living Allowance (up to 6 months) – Support for daily expenses.
  • Books & Study Materials – All required learning resources.
  • Local Transport in Australia – Assistance with commuting to training locations.
  • Professional Networking & Industry Engagement – Exclusive access to industry events and mentorship.

Eligibility Criteria 1

Colombian female professional or technical graduate in Earth Sciences

Eligibility Criteria 2

Proficient in English (Intermediate-Advanced Level)

Eligibility Criteria 3

Valid passport with the ability to travel to Australia

Eligibility Criteria 4

Submit a three-page essay on how responsible mining can enhance her region
